Chris Train

Head Teacher PDHPE

Chris Train

After completing the HSC in Tamworth, Chris attended Newcastle University completing a Double Degree of Physical Activity and Education. This allowed him to take up a position as the sole PDHPE teacher at Merriwa Central School in the Hunter region where he was actively involved in the community through sport and charities for 5 year.

After enjoying his time in the small country town, and with his own young family he looked to move closer to home and moved back to Tamworth to take up a position at Farrer MAHS.

Upon arriving at Farrer in 2008 Chris has had a variety of classes and residential duties whilst living on site for 10 years. During that time Chis was a year advisor and also heavily involved in coaching Rugby League and Touch football.

Chris has had the opportunity to help create and maintain the 9 hole golf course on the grounds of the school, which is used for Sport afternoons and weekend activities for the students.

Chris took on the responsibility of Head Teacher PDHPE in 2017, and is continually looking for opportunities to extend and challenge the students at Farrer to live a healthy and active lifestyle and to excel in all aspects of their schooling and future endeavours.

We invite you to book a tour of the school, ask lots of questions and see first-hand what we have to offer your son and your family. We look forward to meeting you.
