FIRST III LAWN BOWLS

The Farrer First III Lawn Bowls campaign wrapped up this week at the NSWCHSSA state finals. Farrer’s road to the finals included a 28-7 win against Tamworth High, 22-12 win against Inverell High and 18-9 win against Walcha Central School. Farrer came up against Gunnedah High in the North West final but were beaten 29-13. Fortunately, after the success of North West at last years NSWCHSSA Bowls Championships, North West were eligible to send two representatives to the state finals. This years state finals were held at St John Park Bowling Club in Sydney. After a win against East Hills Boys, a loss to Kingswood High School and a draw with Yass High School the boys finished 2nd in their pool and made the 5th-8th playoff rounds. The boys first game in the playoff rounds was against Temora High. After some back and forth ends Farrer won 13-7 putting the boys into the 5th/6th playoff. The 5th/6th playoff was against our North West rivals Gunnedah High School. They were too good in the end, snatching a 12-10 victory.
