Ag Tech Youth Innovation Summit
During the last week of term 3, Aidan, Lewis, Nathan and Logan from Year 10 were invited to attend and participate in the Ag Tech Youth Innovation Summit at UNE in Armidale. Teams from prior rounds in Tamworth, Narrabri, Moree and Armidale were selected to further enhance and refine their original ideas by collaborating with researchers, industry professionals and other experts.
Throughout the day, teams engaged with various ‘labs’ designed to enhance different aspects of their solutions, ultimately lead to a final pitch competition with a grand prize. The event aimed to inspire and equip the next generation of AgTech leaders with the skills and knowledge to tackle real-world Agricultural challenges.
Unfortunately, Farrer didn’t come away with the win, but the students excelled themselves in designing an ear tag for sheep farmers to identify and monitor the livelihood and wellbeing of their stock with live updates through an app. Well done to the Farrer team!
