Work Experience
Work experience for Year 10 is undertaken during the Outdoor Activities Scheme (ODAS) period at the end of Term 4. Participation in work experience is a great opportunity for students to explore 'real-world' work environments.
Work Experience may also be completed at other times upon application to the Careers Advisor by students in years 10, 11 and 12. Generally, such applications must demonstrate exceptional circumstances to warrant approval. All work experience activities run along the guidelines of the School to Work Program produced by the Department of Education and Training.
Students must arrange their own transport to and from Work Experience. Where a student wishes to undertake work experience in a profession, not available locally, application must be made through the Careers Adviser to enable other options to be explored.
If a student fails to submit their work experience paperwork to the Careers Adviser by the final deadline then they will attend classes for the duration of the work experience period.
