Boarding Accommodation
Farrer is home to up to 324 boarders (with ~300 day boys) who call our campus ‘home’ for 40 weeks of the year. Boarders are housed within
Year Groups in multiple dormitories, being;
- Northcott
- Gosling

- Barlow House
- Old Bricks
- Wetherell
All dormitories are air-conditioned and contain lockable cupboard space for each student. Students are required to provide their own padlock for their locker and a toolbox is fixed into each student’s locker to provide extra security for valuables. All dormitories are locked and out-of-bounds to all students during school hours.
Year 7 - 8 Boarders
Year 7 and 8 students live in large open-styled dormitories that accommodate eight students per dorm. Years 7 and 8 boarders are accommodated in house groups in separate dormitories. The four house groups are:
- Macarthur
- Oxley
- Parkes
- Peel
Years 9 - 10 Boarders
Year 9 & 10 boarders will share their dorm with between two and six roommates.
Year 11 Boarders
Year 11 boarders are housed with two students per dormitory, giving these students the privacy required to maximise their study time.
Year 12 Boarders
As students’ progress through the school years, they share their rooms with fewer students, until in Year 12, where they have their
own individual room.
