Deanne Lesslie
Head Teacher (Relieving) Science
Deanne embarked on her teaching career after completing her degree in Bachelor of Education - Secondary Science majoring in Chemistry at the University of Newcastle.
Deanne has devoted her career to teaching in schools in the North West, with the exception of a brief period in 2002 when she had the opportunity to teach in London.
Deanne began her teaching at Farrer in 2007, where she has actively participated in numerous extra-curricular activities. These include managing the school's Tennis team, which achieved a bronze medal in the State finals and two other North West championships. Deanne initiated Farrer's involvement in the North West Volleyball Knockout, leading the team to win two Regional championships and compete in the State finals in Sydney. Additionally, she has organised and led ODAS camps at Coffs Harbour and Sydney. More recently, Deanne have pursued accreditation in athletics officiating and had the privilege of being selected by CHS schools sports to officiate High Jump at the State Carnival in 2022 and 2023.
As the Relieving Head Teacher of Science, Deanne is committed to supporting her fellow staff members as they create engaging
lessons and provide numerous opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge in their science subjects.
