Danne Levy
Head Teacher Literacy & Learning
Danne earned her Bachelor of Arts (Theatre & Film, English) from University of NSW, and dabbled in advertising, stage management, casting and film work before returning to complete a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education (Drama, English) in 2007. She started her teaching career at Tamworth High School before securing a position teaching English at Farrer in 2008. From 2012, Danne developed the drama program at Farrer, reaching some outstanding theatrical and academic success. She has directed four Farrer school plays, organised the regional Theatresports competition and was the drama coordinator for CAPERS in 2019. She has been relieving Head Teacher English, Relieving Instructional Leader (Teaching and Learning) and a Year Coordinator (2010-2015). Currently, she shares the role of Head Teacher Literacy and Learning, fostering the reading and writing skills to cultivate students into lifelong learners. The Writing Initiative and Reading Roll Call are particular target programs, as well as assisting teachers to gain their teaching accreditation.
Danne leads the Future Man program which combines study skills, careers and wellbeing initiatives for Year 10 students. Teaching Farrer boys
about creative problem solving and critical thinking are the most enjoyable parts of her job, and she is passionate about helping students
find their own passions, and reach their potential in whatever path they take.
