As part of their poultry unit Year 7-1 have recently carried out some testing on different ages of eggs. Tamsyn Crawley from UNE came to demonstrate the different factors affecting the quality and we compared the eggs produced at Farrer to those bought in a supermarket. The boys learnt how to candle eggs, measure the weight, shape index, shell  and yolk colour and how this correlates to quality.
