Welcome to the careers webpage! This faculty organises a large number of events and work shops throughout the year with the aim of showing the boys a cross section of the diverse world we live in and in which they will eventually work.
Scroll down for relevant information relating to careers topics such as work experience, subject selections, apprenticeships, university options, resume and cover letter examples and useful links. Use the Careers Toolkit to build up your knowledge of, and preparation for, job applications.
Careers is taught in Years 10 and 12 and is a valued part of the school program. As well as incorporating careers into the school curriculum we work closely with external organisations.
This year the school worked closely with a number of Universities including UNE, Newcastle University, University of Sydney, Southern Cross University and Charles Sturt University to give the boys a taste of university lifestyle.
During the year students have the opportunity to attend careers related Open Days. These include the Careers Expo at TREC, a Health Industry forum at Tamworth Hospital, Prospective Teachers Day and an Aeroskills workshop at the airport. We also host a variety of workshops for students from Years 9 to 12, an ADFA presentation, ‘Latitude’ for overseas GAP years.
In term 4 we run an extensive work experience program for all year 10’s, organise WH&S courses, First Aid courses and Lifeguard courses.
