Northern School’s DTL Carnival – Friday 3rd November
Farrer Clay Target Shooting team competed in the 5th Annual Northern School’s Down the Line (DTL) Trap Carnival. It was a beautiful day with a good roll up of shooters from as far afield as Casino and Woodenbong. This is the only shoot of its type in NSW.
After taking out team honours for the last four years we were defeated by Woodenbong CS (372/435) by a narrow margin (Farrer 360/475). Many congratulations to John Lee and his team from Woodenbong who are, as far as we can tell, the only other state school in NSW with a clay target shooting program.
Our individual results were very pleasing including many personal bests. For some of our shooters it was their first competition and they performed very well. All our shooters competed as hard as they could in a sportsmanlike manner, but more importantly they had fun.
The program for the day was; 25 Targets Double Barrel, 25 Targets Single Barrel, 25 Targets Point Score and 10 Pair Double Rise
Ethan Hanigan (131/145) 1st C-Grade DB and SB, 1st Overall Double Rise. C-Grade High Gun
Bayley Lynch (123/145) 2nd B-Grade DB & SB, 1st PS, 2nd Double Rise
Harry Klepzig (101/145)
Riley Pennell (101/145)
Tom Campbell (106/145)
Sam Fittler (99/145)
Beau Devenish (97/145)
James Tongue (88/145)
Alex Dean (85/145)
Thanks to Calibre Country in Hawker Street Tamworth, who continues to support our shooting program with our ammunition and other equipment. Thanks and congratulations to the members and executive of the Tamworth Clay Target Club for their organisation and their continued support for our program.
